“With both setting and the mechanics fully and well explained, Unwritten is a good use of the FATE system. It’s clearly been written with detail and love for the original Myst material.”

I was expecting to like Unwritten, but not necessarily to love it… I’m happy to report that I was wrong about that; the authors of Unwritten did a superb job at not only adapting MYST™ to a tabletop RPG format, but adapting the Fate system to capture the feel of an exploratory puzzle-based game.

If you’re a fan of Myst, you should definitely pick up this book…I definitely recommend it, and am looking forward to running a one-shot at some point in the future.

“I highly recommend this game, whether or not you’re a fan of MYST or FATE… if you’re at all interested in mystery games or how to incorporate puzzles into roleplaying games (or) simply interested in a game of world- or reality-hopping, Unwritten has that in spades…”
